Tait Sala is a founding partner of Cohen & Master Tree and Shrub Services Ltd. Over his 25 year career, Tait has been involved in all aspects of Arboriculture from Pruning, Plant Health Care, Planting and Consulting. He is an avid tree climber and loves working with trees and people! Tait is dedicated to discovering new and innovative ways to care for our urban canopy.  Tait is quick to say that the best day is a day in the field with the production crews, climbing trees and interacting with our customers! Tait is an ISA Certified Arborist and holds a BFA in Production.

Tomas Cohen is a founding partner of Cohen & Master. Since 2002, Tomas, along with business partner Tait Sala, has grown Cohen & Master from “2 guys and a truck” to an elite team of arborists and support staff serving over 10,000 customers across the GTA. Tomas loves building strong connections with his clients and is committed to staying on the cutting edge of technologies and methods to preserve the Urban Canopy.

Mike is a senior sales arborist at Cohen & Master Tree and Shrub Services and has been here for 10 years. Mike started his career at C&M as a production arborist and moved into the client facing aspect of the work a year later. He really enjoys working with our clients, caring for their property and trees as best as possible, to grow and maintain Toronto’s urban canopy.

Ray Walker is a Sales Arborist at Cohen & Master Tree and Shrub Services. His main focus is diagnosing tree issues and determining best steps in pruning, plant health care and tree management for his clients' trees and woody plants. Ray is passionate about the urban landscape and works hard to maintain the trees in his purview, in backyards and surrounding commercial properties alike. With over 9 years at Cohen & Master and an ask-me-anything attitude, Ray is determined to teach everyone he encounters at least one thing about trees (sometimes, whether they like it or not). Outside of work, he enjoys playing music, painting, cooking, and walking his giant dogs.

Kyle has spent the past nine years growing with Cohen and Master, including six years hands-on in the field before moving into quoting and project management. His field experience built a strong foundation in plant health and garden care, with a particular emphasis on tree planting and establishing trees for long-term success. He’s passionate about being outdoors and having real conversations about how landscapes can better serve the people who live in them. With a tree-first mindset, Kyle focuses on sustainability, longevity, and lasting curb appeal, helping Toronto properties and their trees thrive for years to come.

Rob Birtles is a Crew leader and Sales Arborist at Cohen and Master. Rob is engaged in many elements within the company from meeting with clients and determining their needs, to executing and coordinating projects to make their trees healthy safe and beautiful. He takes pleasure spending his days climbing through the canopy and meeting new people. When he’s not climbing trees he enjoys being up North, discovering new hiking trails, traveling, and experiencing live music. With over 5 years of experience at Cohen and Master Rob is eager to continue learning and developing new skills to help our clients and the Trees of Toronto.
